The Future of Conservation in America

Join NPCA at a lecture by Dr. Gary E. Machlis as we explore threats and opportunities for conservation moving forward.

Dr. Machlis is a professor at Clemson University and former science advisor to the director of the National Park Service during the Obama administration. His presentation will be based off his recent book, “The Future of Conservation in America: A Chart for Rough Water,” which was written with Jon Jarvis, the 18th director of the National Park Service.

Following the presentation, there will be a panel discussion. Emily Jones, NPCA’s campaign director for the Southeast Regional Office, will participate on the panel.

This event, held in the Toyota Auditorium of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy, is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Vol Hall Garage.
