This popular event brings together volunteers of all ages to restore a tree species that has been practically eliminated throughout East Texas.
At Big Thicket National Preserve, we’re bringing back the longleaf pine by planting thousands of trees each year.
Event Details
WHAT: Longleaf Pine Planting
WHERE: Big Thicket National Preserve Visitor Center (Note: there is very little parking at the planting site, so please carpool if possible.)
WHEN: Saturday, February 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
OTHER: Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. Bring a refillable water bottle. Snacks and water will be provided, but you should bring your own lunch. All volunteer will have to sign a release form. Those under 18 will need a release form signed by a parent or guardian.
