Appalachian Trail Day in the Harlem Valley

Celebrate fall on the Appalachian Trail on October 13!

NPCA, Harlem Valley Appalachian Trail Community and Appalachian Trail Conservancy have banded together to offer a can’t-miss day of activities for the whole family.

There will be cultural heritage walks, art exhibits and do-it-yourself apple cider pressing alongside food trucks and crafts.

Come out and mingle with the 2018 Trail Day awardees, local dairy farmers, horse rescuers and long-time trail maintainers of the Hudson Valley.

In recognition of their dedication and commitment to the Appalachian Trail, this year’s Trail Day recipients are:

  • Melissa Goodwin (Girl Gotta Hike) for the Public Access Award
  • Aaron Leonard (Sierra Club and Military Outdoors) for the Veterans Services Organization Award

Special thanks to the event host, Native Landscapes & Garden Center, a locally owned native plant center located just steps off the trail and accessible from the Appalachian Trail Station (via the Metro North Harlem Line).
