NPS Centennial Celebration in L.A.

Last month, the National Park Service turned 100! This month, NPCA is joining together with Environmental Professionals of Color (EPOC) and the Audubon Center at Debs Park in L.A. for a happy hour celebration, and you're invited.

The park system continues to grow into its next century, working to expand its lands and stories to better reflect our diversity as a country. Debs Park — an area that could one day be included in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area — reminds us of the importance of green space within urban environments. Moreover, the Audubon Center features a new installation honoring the heritage of native people in this part of Los Angeles.

Please join us on September 22 as we reflect back on the parks’ past and look forward to their future. We’ll start the evening with a hike, reconvene at the center for a reception and end our evening with a raffle. It’s a night for connecting people to parks and for celebrating the natural and cultural heritage of Los Angeles.
