No Baseball Stadium in Grand Teton, Now or Ever.

A recent report in the Washington Post reveals that Major League Baseball (MLB) approached the Trump Administration about building a baseball stadium in Grand Teton National Park, and an administration official traveled to the park last week to scout potential locations.

This report comes just one month after a story in the Washington Sun exposed discussions between the administration and a private developer over access to land in Yosemite National Park. In both cases, the outside parties sought special treatment and unprecedented access to national park land. In both cases, the proposals should have been immediately rejected.

“The Department of Interior should reject this idea and publicly say that there will be no baseball stadium in Grand Teton, now or ever.

"A backpacking trip in Grand Teton as a teenager instilled a lifelong love of our national parks in me. I was thrilled to be back there just a couple of weeks ago and to see first-hand just how much visitors and the local community continue to love, respect and fiercely defend this iconic park. It’s long past time for this administration to start treating our national parks with the respect they deserve, starting with full funding and park staffing, instead of more harmful proposals for private profit.”

W. Bush, our ‘common heritage borrowed from future generations which should be passed on as a precious inheritance.’”
