Kings Canyon National Park
Kings Canyon National Park is Sequoia National Park’s sister park in California. Kings Canyon features the graceful peaks of the Sierra Crest and is the deepest canyon in the United States. The Kings Canyon, cut out of granite, was carved by glaciers and is a breathtaking site. The Kings River that flows through the gorge is wild and dangerous. Enjoy the majestic views of the park as you hike, horseback ride, or drive along vistas. The remote peaks of the Sierra Crest are only accessible by foot or horse trails, but if you make the trek, the raw beauty of the landscape will be a rich reward.
Also check out the General Grant Grove area of the park, several groves of Sequoias that includes Redwood Mountain Grove, the largest natural Giant Sequoia grove in the world!
A trip to this area of California brings you to two national parks—both Sequoia and Kings Canyon—with boundless opportunities for outdoor recreation and some of the most gorgeous scenery in the country.

Threats
Air pollution is among the most serious threats to national parks. The National Park Service has established the NPS air quality webcam network to show “live” digital images of more than a dozen parks. Click here to see current air conditions at Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.
