Country-Rock Songstress Doreen Taylor Releases Single to Benefit National Parks Conservation Association, Bring Awareness to Parks

Taylor debuts song at NPCA’s Salute to the Parks Gala

Washington, DC – Award-winning songstress Doreen Taylor has released a new single – “Colors of the USA” – to benefit the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) in their work to protect and enhance America’s national parks. The inspiring new song, which debuted Wednesday at NPCA’s annual Salute to the Parks Gala to rousing applause, is now available to preview and download at www.colorsoftheusa.org. Fifty percent of all proceeds generated from the song will go directly to NPCA.

"I am a huge supporter of the preservation of America, our history and of our national parks, so I am so excited to be writing and performing such a moving and inspirational tribute to support NPCA’s work as Americans prepare to celebrate the 100th anniversary of our national parks,” said Taylor.

The National Parks Conservation Association has partnered with Doreen Taylor in an effort to raise awareness about the national parks in advance of their 2016 centennial. During a time of budget cuts and continued threats to the parks, the nonpartisan advocacy organization has recognized the importance of galvanizing support and inspiring new audiences.

"Doreen's incredible voice and her beautiful song have the power to connect people to America's most glorious places, our national parks,” said NPCA President and CEO Clark Bunting. “We are grateful for her support to help protect our national parks for the future.”

Doreen Taylor is an award-winning songstress dubbed by the Huffington Post as “an excellent performing artist to keep your eyes on.” In 2013, Taylor embarked upon a national tour to promote her acclaimed debut album “Magic,” selling out multiple venues across the country, including Los Angeles, New York City and Philadelphia. With a Masters in Opera Performance, Taylor received the "2012 Suggested Artist of the Year" award from the 'Song of the Year' international songwriting competition. The new single, “Colors of the USA,” showcases Doreen’s talents not only as a vocalist, but also as a songwriter and musician.

Since 1919, the nonpartisan National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has been the leading voice of the American people in safeguarding our National Park System. NPCA and its 800,000 members and supporters work together to protect the National Park System and preserve our nation's natural, historical, and cultural heritage for generations to come.
