Small Ship Cruise Wild California Escape: Channel Islands Unique and wild, Channel Islands National Park serves as the perfect getaway for a revitalizing experience of wilderness and wellness. Known as North America’s Galápagos, the Channel Islands and their surrounding waters provide habitat for more than 2,000 species of plants and animals, including 150 native species found nowhere else in the world. Park Cuyahoga Valley National Park This park preserves 22 miles of the Cuyahoga River and the mosaic of natural and man-made features surrounding it, including lush forests, rolling hills, wetlands, waterfalls, farm fields, historic buildings and dramatic rock ledges. Decades before this Midwestern site officially became a national park, severe pollution in the river outraged and embarrassed the country, helping to spur the creation of the Clean Water Act, the Environmental Protection Agency and Earth Day. Now the health of the river has improved significantly, and the park offers numerous recreational opportunities and even a scenic railroad for its millions of visitors each year.

Park El Malpais National Monument This diverse volcanic landscape includes lava tube caves and lava bridges, sandstone bluffs, open grasslands, forest, and the 125-foot La Ventana Arch, one of the most accessible natural rock arches in New Mexico.

Park Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area This recreation area straddles the northern Wyoming and southern Montana borders, preserving approximately 68,000 acres between the Pryor and Bighorn mountain ranges. The park was established in 1966 following the construction of the Yellowtail Dam by the Bureau of Reclamation to preserve the area's diverse landscape, including the spectacular Bighorn Canyon and Bighorn Lake.
