Schedule Highlights

DAY 1: MARQUETTE, MICHIGAN: Today begins with an early morning pick-up where you’ll meet your guides in Marquette and continue with a drive to Pictured Rocks. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Marquette Lighthouse Museum to learn all about its rich history and preservation efforts. Your plans for the evening include enjoying a sunset boat tour along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore to get a front row view of the beautiful coastline.

DAY 2: PICTURED ROCKS: Today is all about exploring Pictured Rocks on foot, with plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the sights you saw from your boat cruise yesterday. Our first hike will be to Sand Point Beach. Just down the shore, we’ll also hike in to check out the Au Sable Lighthouse. We’ll cap off the day with a hike to Munising Falls and Chapel Beach.

DAY 3: PETOSKEY, MI: We get an early start this morning to make the drive from Munising to the coastal resort community of Petoskey. We’ll venture through the Upper Peninsula to Tahquamenon Falls State Park for our first hike of the day, eventually heading to lunch at the local brewhouse. This afternoon, we’ll depart from the state park and continue south across the Mackinac Bridge and along the scenic “Tunnel of Trees.” We’ll arrive into Petoskey right around dinner time for a wonderful meal at the Perry Hotel.

DAY 4: TRAVERSE CITY, MI: We’ll start our morning with a leisurely bike ride to the picturesque town of Bay View, situated on Little Traverse Bay. A short drive along Grand Traverse Bay will lead us into our final destination for the trip, Traverse City. Enjoy your first night in town with dinner at a local winery this evening.

DAY 5: SLEEPING BEAR SAND DUNES: Settle in for a full day exploring at Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. This afternoon, you’ll also visit Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor for a warm slice of fresh cherry pie. Upon returning to Traverse City, we’ll toast to a wonderful journey over a farewell dinner.

DAY 6: DEPARTURES HOME: Enjoy one last short jaunt on the Leelanau Peninsula to imprint the beauty of the area before heading into Traverse City for mid-day flights home.
