Nicholas started at NPCA in 2019. Originally hailing from Chicago, Nicholas learned a love for ecology and conservation while studying integrative biology at University of Illinois.

After graduating, he spent a season living and working in Great Smoky Mountains National Park where he became a lifelong advocate of the nation’s parks. In graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University, Nicholas led research studying avian ecology while completing degrees in biology and geographic information systems (GIS). Since joining the environmental non-profit space in 2015, Nicholas has focused on using GIS and science communication techniques to advance biodiversity conservation and land protection. In his free time you might find him birding, board gaming, backpacking, biking or broomballing.
