This fall our national parks will be the focus of a beautiful documentary by one of our nation's most respected filmmakers, Ken Burns. On September 27, The National Parks: America's Best Idea will premiere on PBS. This breathtaking narrative traces the birth of the national park idea in the mid-1800s and follows its evolution for nearly 150 years. Leading up to the debut of the film, NPCA and WTTW11 would like to invite you to a special screening of the film and a special discussion of the project with Ken Burns himself at The Art Institute of Chicago. WHEN: Wednesday, September 16, at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: The Art Institute of Chicago, Rubloff Auditorium. Note: If attending the event, please enter through the Columbus Drive Entrance on the east side of the museum, rather than through the Modern Wing Entrance or the main entrance on Michigan Avenue. The Columbus Drive entrance leads directly to the Rubloff Auditorium.
