Horseshoe Bend Day Camps

Description:
Horseshoe Bend Military Park is holding three Kid's Culture Camps for children ages 6 through 12. All camps begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. There is no charge to attend but reservations must be made in advance.
The camps are:
Creek Indian Culture Camp Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12
Activities include playing stickball, making pottery and baskets, and a ranger-led hike
Living History Camp Wednesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 26
Learn about the Battle of Horseshoe Bend from the perspective of a soldier and a Creek warrior
The Nature of Horseshoe Bend Wednesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 10
Discover the role the nature of Horseshoe Bend played in the history of its people through games and walks
Reservations are taken starting Monday, May 12 and will be accepted up to ten days prior to the start of a camp. Parents or guardians should make reservations by calling (256) 234-7111 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Sundays through Thursdays. Each camp is offered twice on consecutive days. Parents can drop off their children as early as 8:30 a.m. and pick them up no later than 4:30 p.m.
