Recognizing those who have planned for the future of our national parks

NPCA has established the Mather Legacy Society to recognize and honor those individuals who care deeply about preserving our national parks for future generations and have expressed their support by making a gift to NPCA in their estate plans.

In 1919, Stephen T. Mather and the other founders of the National Parks Conservation Association declared their determination to "defend the national parks and monuments fearlessly against assaults of private interests and aggressive commercialism." While these visionaries wisely anticipated numerous attacks on parks, other threats were simply unimaginable at the time. Today, our national parks face unprecedented challenges including the deterioration of park resources, lack of funding for maintenance and preservation, visitor crowding and inappropriate use of resources within the parks, air and water pollution outside the parks, and commercial overdevelopment on park boundaries.

NPCA has focused its mission to address these categories of threats to America's national parks. The future of our parks still depends to a large degree on the foresight and generosity of today's visionaries who are willing to consider new ways to make gifts.

Thank you for taking the time to read about the various ways you may make a special gift to help us preserve our national treasures. There is a gift option to meet each person's unique circumstances:

Gifts By Will or Trust
Life Income Plans (including Charitable Gift Annuities)
Donations of Insurance and Retirement Benefits

We would like the opportunity to recognize you as a member of the Mather Legacy Society. Please contact a gift planning officer toll-free at 1-877-468-5775 or by email at giftplanning@npca.org.
