Estimated loss of recreation visits and visitor spending to local communities during the October 2013 Federal Government shutdown due to the closure of National Park System Units.

NOTE: The States of Arizona, Colorado, New York, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah donated funds to open some of their park units during the shutdown. The estimations on this page reflect the exclusion of the days during the shutdown that select park units were open.
