The Thomas Jefferson Memorial stands proud on the National Mall in Washington D.C. in homage to one of the genius founders of our country. The Memorial commemorates the life of Thomas Jefferson- the legendary scholar and revolutionary leader.
Thomas Jefferson was a President, a Vice President, and a Secretary of State, a so-called “triple-crown” in his national government appointments. One of the principal authors of the Declaration of Independence, Jefferson is renowned for his eloquent writing. A man of education, he founded the University of Virginia.
When you go, sit on the steps of the memorial and enjoy the scenic view of the nation’s capital city, itself a celebration of the efforts of Jefferson and his fellow founding fathers.
