Central Valley Leaders Meet with Congressman Radanovich On Friday, June 3, the Central Valley office of NPCA had an in-district meeting with Congressman George Radanovich and six influential constituents. They were:
Manuel Cunha, President, Nisei Farmers League Sam Traina, UC Merced - Sierra Nevada Research Institute Laura Whitehouse NPCA Central Valley Field Representative Congressman George Radanovich Marilyn Norcross, Owner, Robb Ross Foods Everett Norcross, Owner, Robb Ross Foods Lorena Martinez, Executive Director, Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Marty Acree, Associate Pastor, Northwest Church Darren Rose, District Director, Congressman Radanovich
NPCA and the constituents thanked the Congressman for meeting with them to discuss the health of Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon national parks. While representing the diverse areas of agriculture, education, business, the faith community, and the Hispanic community, the group all expressed concern that nearby California national parks be fully funded, and suggested that the bipartisan National Park Centennial Act is an out-of-the-box way to help address the parks’ critical funding needs.
Overall, the meeting went well. NPCA and the community are eager to continue communicating with the Congressman about our national parks.
You too, can lend your voice to the pro-parks chorus. Consider visiting your member of Congress during the August recess, while they are home in your district, or send them a letter or call them with your concerns about the funding needs of the national parks.
