Marilyn and Everett Norcross are two of the National Parks Conservation Association’s greatest supporters.
On behalf of NPCA, the Norcrosses have lobbied in Washington, D.C.; participated in a local meeting with Congressman George Radanovich; and traveled to Yosemite National Park to view the recent falls restoration project. (See photo)
In addition, the Norcrosses have assumed an active role in planning NPCA’s October 13 reception, designed to thank the many friends of Central Valley NPCA and provide a brief update on the issues facing Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks.
The Norcrosses became large supporters of NPCA after meeting Laura Whitehouse, Central Valley Program Manager, at a Rotary Club of Fresno meeting. “We were very impressed with NPCA and Laura’s zest to work on behalf of the parks,” says Mrs. Norcross. “We both consider the national parks to be our treasure. Here in California, that is pretty much what we have to offer and it would be rather embarrassing if we let them fall apart.”
Everett Norcross agrees. “The national parks are a part of our heritage," he says. “It’s important to us to lend a hand.”
The Norcrosses have done more than simply lend a hand; they are two of the Central Valley Office’s greatest allies. “We’re very fortunate to have the Norcrosses playing such a major role in our Central Valley campaign,” says Whitehouse. “Their time, energy and commitment are really making a difference.”
