Become Involved in a Desert Parks Partners Committee

Despite the shortage of funding that challenges our desert park managers, there is much that community members can do to help. This, in fact, is one of the reasons that Desert Parks Partners (DPP) formed. Currently, three DPP committees are actively exploring and implementing ideas to help support the desert parks. Volunteers are invited to work on these committees by contacting the following committee chairperson at the phone number provided:

  1. Government Affairs Committee – Work to build support for more government funding for the California desert parks. Contact: Deborah DeMeo, 760-366-3035.
  2. Volunteerism Committee – Help recruit/increase volunteerism for the desert parks and for projects other committees are pursuing. Contact: Deborah DeMeo, 760-366-3035.
  3. Community Development Committee – Help design and implement projects that support the desert parks’ mission or accentuate the link between parks and gateway communities. Contact: Joe Guzzetta, 366-2042, x226.
