Nancy Dorey, Former Principal, Is Now Do-It-All Volunteer
Fridays are days for getting things done around NPCA’s Parks Information Center & Gallery because Fridays are Nancy Dorey’s day to volunteer. Nancy, a retired middle school principal, feels tremendous passion for our national parks and has a drive that will not stop!
Recently, we asked Nancy to collaborate with another volunteer, Bernadette Laqueur, to create a northwest wildflower poster. Nancy answered our request with a flurry of listmaking and phone calls to experts, resulting in the wildflower pullout in this newsletter. Nancy now has her sights set on pulling out non-native plants as part of our Elwha River Revegetation Project at Olympic. Whewww, Nancy, don’t stop now!
When Nancy is not volunteering for NPCA, she can be found leading her grandchildren on trips to Mt. Rainier National Park, climbing Japan’s Mt. Fuji, or taking a road trip over to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area with friends. Nancy does it all and we don’t know what we’d do without her on Fridays!
If you’d like to join Nancy and our other fabulous volunteers in helping to protect national parks, please contact NPCA’s Volunteer Coordinator, Shane Farnor, at 206.903.1444 x24 or sfarnor@npca.org.
