 REI’s Sally Jewell Joins NPCA National Board
We’re excited to announce that Sally Jewell, chief operating officer of Seattlebased Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI), was elected to the national board of trustees of NPCA. An experienced climber, hiker, and kayaker, Jewell’s love of northwest national parks underlies both work and play.
Jewell and her son Peter joined NPCA’s own Nancy Sears and National Council member Doug Walker to summit Mount Rainier during a clear and beautiful late summer weekend last year. “Sally’s leadership skills are a huge asset to NPCA, on and off the trail,” said Sears.
Jewell, who was recently named REI President and CEO, has nearly 20 years experience in the finance and banking industry.
