How You Can Help: Volunteer for the Parks
Help us at NPCA
Get Your Hands Dirty! NPCA and the Jamaica Bay Keeper are looking for volunteers to help spruce up Gateway National Recreation Area. Throughout the year, you can plant dune grass, clean the beach, remove abandoned fishing boats from the marshes, and build nesting platforms for ospreys. Lunch is provided. A great chance give back and meet other wonderful park supporters. Info: Call Darcy Shiber-Knowles at (212) 617-2771
Represent NPCA! NPCA regularly tables with EarthShare NY throughout New York City to recruit new members, raise support for the work we do across the country protecting and enhancing parks, meet other great local conservation organizations, and spread the word about park issues. Lunch provided. If you’d like to help table at an EarthShare event in New York City, we’d love your help. Info: Call Darcy Shiber-Knowles at (212) 617-2771.
Have some free time in New York? We can always use an extra pair of hands to help with filing, stuffing envelopes, and contacting Congressional representatives. The chances are, if you have another great skill, we can use that too! Please call about volunteer opportunities in the Northeast Regional Office, located in mid-town Manhattan. Contact: Darcy Shiber-Knowles at (212) 617-2771
