Kevin Sharer Joins Board of National Parks Group
Washington, D.C. – Kevin Sharer, senior lecturer of business administration at Harvard Business School, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). The board is the governing body for the nonprofit, national parks watchdog organization.
“Kevin is well-respected within the business community and we’re happy to have him join our board,” said NPCA Acting President Theresa Pierno. “His strategic vision and experience will help guide our organization as we approach the National Park Service centennial in 2016.”
Sharer joined the strategy unit of the Harvard Business School in in the fall of 2012. Prior to joining Harvard, he was CEO of Amgen for twelve years and before that served as Amgen’s president for eight. Amgen is the world’s largest biotechnology company and is based in California. Before his time at Amgen, he was executive vice president of business markets at MCI.
Sharer serves on the boards of directors of Chevron, Northrop Grumman, and the Naval Academy Foundation.
