Coins of America Announces Partnership with the National Parks Conservation Association as New National Park Quarter Designs are Circulated to Americans

National park quarters showcase need to protect America’s heritage for future generations

Grafton, Wisc.–Coins of America, the retail division of MPI Coin, has partnered with the leading voice for our national parks, the nonprofit National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), to help promote the new America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. Similar to the 50 State Quarter Program, America’s 140 million coin collectors will turn their eyes toward 56 new quarter designs, raising national attention and public awareness of our national parks and other national sites.

“Our partnership with NPCA is a natural fit for both of us,” said Andrew Schwartz, president of Coins of America. “This new coin program takes two very loyal groups, coin collectors and those most committed to natural resource preservation, and unites them using beautiful quarters. These coins will stand the test of time and pay homage to the parks for future generations.”

On September 20, the U.S. Mint will release the fourth quarter in the series featuring Grand Canyon National Park. The design depicts the steep cliffs of Marble Canyon, highlighting the unique geological features for which the park is famous. The first coin released was Hot Springs National Park, established in 1832. The series continued with Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks and will conclude with the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site in Alabama. These quarters are the only quarters being produced until 2021 when the series ends.

Coins of America has entered into a partnership with NPCA to increase awareness of the much needed support and protection for our national parks. A portion of sales from the national parks collectionwill be contributed to NPCA to support its mission to protect and enhance America’s national parks.

“We are delighted to partner with Coins of America to help showcase the need to protect and preserve our national park legacy for our children and grandchildren,” said Tom Kiernan, president of the National Parks Conservation Association.

Coins of America is proud to introduce loyal coin collectors to the NPCA, as they play an integral role in preserving America’s national heritage. Each national park coin will be minted for only 10 weeks--making them limited editions and highly sought. The 56 coin designs include all 50 states, Washington, D.C. and five U.S. territories, honoring a site from each jurisdiction in the order in which the site was set aside for government protection.

“We’ve always anchored the idea that America’s coins tell America’s story,” says Schwartz. “It’s fascinating learning the back-story of the adventures of Teddy Roosevelt, the inspiration of Muir and others.”

Coins of America products feature presidents, memorials, states, family and hobby milestones, and now, America’s national parks and historic sites. They offer a number of products that are intended to preserve and protect uncirculated coins as well as interactive collect-your-own portfolios, books, and most popular quarter maps.  These coins and other products can be seen at: www.coinsofamerica.com.
