National Parks Week NYC: Green Carpet Gala at Ellis Island to Benefit National Parks
This Land Is Your LandFrom California to the New York Islands
WHAT:
Please join the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) at a Green Carpet Gala to benefit our national parks. As part of National Parks Week NYC, the gala will gather key regional, political, social, and business leaders to celebrate the rich history of our national parks and launch a national dialogue about the future of the parks as they enter their second century.
Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan will be on-hand to present a special preview of Burns’s new documentary, “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.” The event will also honor U.S. Senator Robert Menendez and Thomas F. Secunda, founding partner of Bloomberg L.P., for their roles as national park protectors.
National Parks Week NYC will provide countless free, educational and entertaining opportunities for the entire family throughout the city, including the signature event, “Feel Free: A National Parks Celebration in Central Park” on Wednesday night. The Central Park event will feature highlights from Burns’s documentary, speakers, and musical acts by an array of performers.
