National Parks Conservation Association Says National Park Superintendent at State of the Union Reflects Parks as a Priority
“The National Parks Conservation Association is very pleased to learn that National Park Service Superintendent Tara Morrison will be sitting in the First Lady’s box this evening for President Bush’s State of the Union speech. With the centennial of the park system fast approaching in 2016, this is an appropriate acknowledgment that taking care of our national parks should be a national priority. We’ll be looking for the White House and Congress to continue the task of restoring our national parks for their centennial by reinvesting in the parks’ fiscal year 2009 budget.”
