National Parks Conservation Association Launches Mobile Phone Service

The nation's leading national park advocacy organization, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), today announced it has partnered with Sonopia to launch a branded mobile phone service that provides NPCA members a great new way to demonstrate their affinity, keep up with the latest park news and information, connect with other parks conservationists, and support the organization.

NPCA Mobile offers subscribers the complete suite of features and functionality they’ve come to expect from a wireless package:

·         A selection of popular phones

·         Calling plans to suit a variety of lifestyles

·         Best-in-class coverage with America’s most reliable wireless network

·         Premium voice and data services

·         Hassle-free online sign-up and service activation

·         Up-to-the-minute news and information on the go

Additionally, NPCA Mobile offers subscribers exclusive access to value-added offerings such as:

·         The opportunity to support the organization and protect national parks just by doing something they’re going to do anyway – using a cell phone

·         Branded handsets and easy-to-use branded interface featuring the NPCA logo

·         Customized content, including NPCA news alerts and information, delivered directly to the phone

·         Online community of NPCA members and like-minded subscribers, with social-networking functionality such as blogging and photo sharing

"Launching this mobile service offers NPCA an exciting initiative for 2007,” said NPCA President Tom Kiernan. “We're always looking for new ways to share information with our members, and using mobile phones gives us another communication channel to do just that. Our constituents care deeply about America's national parks, and the opportunity to support the parks just by making their daily calls is an innovative way to make a positive impact every day."

Sonopia-powered mobile services, including NPCA Mobile, use America’s most reliable network, ensuring quality and reliability in voice and data services. Sonopia has also teamed with leading handset manufacturers to provide subscribers with the best equipment at competitive prices.  Sonopia handles all the backend details for its partners’ branded mobile services – from provisioning service to delivering handsets, from helping identify potential subscribers to managing monthly billing, from creating marketing materials to handling customer care. Sonopia works with its partners on a revenue-sharing basis, so NPCA gets a portion of every dollar NPCA Mobile subscribers spend on their monthly cell phone bill.

“The NPCA knows its members, and together we’ve created a mobile services offering that suits their lifestyles and reflects their priorities,” said Juha Christensen, founder and CEO of Sonopia Corporation. “Non-profit organizations are always looking for new ways to serve their constituents and advance their mission, and we provide them a high-value, low-risk way to do that. NPCA Mobile is a great example, and we’re pleased to be working with such a well-respected organization.”
