Washington, DC - The vote tallies that follow are for 165 representatives and 37 senators currently serving in Congress who received the National Parks Conservation Association's (NPCA) "Friend of the National Parks" award for their support of legislation in the 106th Congress (1999-2000) that upheld the standards and integrity of the National Park System. To receive the award, senators had to vote correctly at least four out of five times (80%). Representatives received the award if they voted to protect the parks on at least seven of the eight votes cast (87%).
