National Parks Conservation Association Praises Announcement of Robert Stanton as Interior Deputy Assistant Secretary

Statement by NPCA President Tom Kiernan

“As a former director of the National Park Service and career agency employee, Bob Stanton is a proven leader with the necessary knowledge, skills, passion, and experience to support the Department of the Interior’s initiatives to protect and enhance our treasured landscapes-America’s public lands.

“Bob is a former National Parks Conservation Association trustee and has chaired our national council for the last few years. In these roles and others, he has been a constant and effective advocate for our national parks. He understands and appreciates the impact that individuals can have in protecting our national heritage, and is personally committed to educating and inspiring the next generation of national park stewards.

“We wish Bob continued success, and intend to continue working to help him to protect our national parks for our children and grandchildren.”
