National Parks Conservation Association Pleased Climate Legislation is Progressing

Statement by Mark Wenzler, director of Clean Air and Climate Programs on today’s vote by the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee to pass the Clean Energy Jobs & American Power Act out of committee:

“We’re pleased that this bill is progressing and that it includes dedicated funding to help wildlife and natural resources adapt to climate change. This funding will become more and more necessary as ecosystems and public lands, including national parks, are increasingly stressed by climate-change shifts.

“We hope that the full Senate will take action to pass a meaningful and comprehensive climate change bill soon.”
