Photography Exhibit at Senate Office Building Features Flathead River Valley and Glacier National Park

MEDIA ADVISORY

WHAT :  Photography exhibit

WHO :    Sponsored by the National Parks Conservation Association, the International League of Conservation Photographers, and Senators Max Baucus and Jon Tester

WHEN :   December 1- 4, 2009

WHERE : The Russell Senate Office Building Rotunda, Constitution Avenue and Delaware Ave. NE, Washington, D.C.

View stunning images of the Flathead River Valley, which spans Glacier National Park in the United States, and Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada. While the valley is exceptionally wild and scenic, its waters and wildlife are being threatened by proposed mining in Canada outside park boundaries.

The United Nations’ World Heritage Committee is currently investigating the threat to the parks, which together form Waterton-Glacier Peace Park and a World Heritage Site.

Visit http://www.npca.org/northernrockies/glacierendangered/ to learn more about the mining threats and this special place and to see some of the exhibited photos.
