National Parks Conservation Association Praises House’s Continued Investment in National Parks; Says Parks on “Right Track”

Statement by Kristen Brengel, National Parks Conservation Association Legislative Director

"The Interior Appropriations bill passed by the House today contains much-needed funding to address critical needs in our national parks. Subcommittee Chairman Norm Dicks has successfully worked to keep our national parks on the right track toward restoration in time for the 2016 centennial of the National Park Service.

"This bill will make a measurable impact on our national heritage for the benefit of our children and grandchildren. It provides funding to address the national parks' crumbling historic buildings and trails, and enhances the Park Service's ability to protect wildlife and cultural treasures and provide needed public education and services."
