Winter Sunrise in the Everglades

There is no other place like it on the planet: The Everglades. I return year after year after year, making a mecca to a watershed I have come to call the Holy Land. What a privilege it was to have served as one of the park's artists-in-residence and have the muse inspire poem after poem about its pine keys and slough, its alligators and crocodiles, its gallinules and vultures, its sawgrass and mangroves.
