The United States is a big country with citizens from all corners of the planet. We are fortunate to benefitted from enlightened leadership from our founders and leaders that followed. Democracy, free speech, and freedom from a state religion were part of our foundation. And two additions made us the envy of the world: universal education and social security. The third jewel in liberty's crown was - and - is, our National Parks and protected lands that belong to ALL of us. These lands are a legacy we leave for those who come after us. We are charged to be the caretakers of a priceless heritage. As years go by there will be some who have other ideas and plans for these public treasures, who will not value them as we do. To protect the parks and educate our citizens about their unique values to the entire nation is why I give to NPCA and let my representatives know that this is a priority that cannot be ignored.
