Since my now 20 year old daughter was 16 we have been traveled from Kansas to Minnesota each year for a 2 week camping in the Superior National Forest. Words cannot express what those times of tranquility and just being able to surround ourselves with God's beauty in nature without the interference of lights, motors, and media have meant to both of us. On the other side I see how atv use has torn trails through the forest. I have seen people partying and shooting off fireworks that could have sparked off a forest fire not to mention driving off wildlife for hours and sometimes the rest of the night. The park rangers are so short staffed the best they can do is try to drive through briefly most days but there is no way they can control even the things that are reported. I want the parks to be there not only for future trips with my daughter but also I want to be able to take my grandchildren on similar trips someday.
