Tour Description
This cultural heritage tour explores the unique stories of Cuyahoga River valley and its surrounding areas. Our local guides and exclusive NPCA connections will lead you through a variety of sights with historical and natural significance. You’ll discover superior historical interpretation,
invasive plant species management strategies, and innovative sustainability practices of an urban national park. Included in the tour are several stops to Cleveland’s prominent cultural attractions. Finally, enjoy a leisurely cruise up the Cuyahoga River as you dine in style.
ParkScapes Highlights
Cuyahoga Valley National Park This largely wooded national park boasts beautiful waterfalls, such as Brandywine Falls. Diverse artistry through craft demonstrations, summer musical programs, and Shakespearean theater complement the re-creation of 19th-century historic buildings, Ohio & Erie Canal, and Ohio lifestyle.
Ohio & Erie National Heritage Corridor Visit the summit of the Ohio and Erie Canal at the Cascades Locks, where the canal boats crossed the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico in this greater heritage corridor.
Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railway Railroad service dates back to the 1870’s. You’ll ride in comfort on this diesel-locomotive powered passenger train as it follows the winding course of the Cuyahoga River.
Blossom Music Center Enjoy some of the best music in the land at this summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra with an evening orchestra concert. Program specifics will be announced in the tour participant information.
