CPM Skills and Capabilities
The Center for Park Management (CPM) has over 90 years of collective consulting experience. We are comprised of seasoned consulting professionals and former National Park Service (NPS) employees with unique backgrounds and advanced degrees in business, environmental management, and public policy. To date, our project work has focused on strategy development, detailed analyses and problem-solving, best practices research and reporting, and action plans for implementation.
Our diverse skill set includes:
- Financial management, including analysis, modeling, and budgeting
- Project planning and implementation
- Change management, including conflict resolution, facilitation, and business process re-engineering

CPM uniquely combines an intimate knowledge of the NPS with the ability to think strategically and develop/implement solutions on a system-wide basis to our clients and partners. To date, CPM has served over 15 national park units and 11 international land or marine conservation units in the following ways:

We also conduct best practice studies and promote development of best practices from diverse sources, through research as well as some work outside of the NPS.
