Indiana Dunes: National Park, Regional Treasure

National Park, Regional Treasure | Faces | Project Partners | Research

After more than two years of research and listening to people who love Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, NPCA, The Field Museum of Chicago, and the Eppley Institute for Parks and Public Lands is pleased to make The Future of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore available to all (PDF/4.6 MB).

Our recommendations are available for download separate from the report.

We read through and analyzed nearly 50 plans and heard from nearly 500 people about the challenges and opportunities at the National Lakeshore.

In this report we present thoughtful, informed ideas for the future of this great national park, with a goal of sparking action and cooperation to strengthen and safeguard it.

Many plans have been developed for Indiana Dunes, but few have led to action. We hope that fresh eyes and an independent outlook can help stimulate new discussion and action.

If you have questions about the report, please contact Lynn McClure lmcclure@npca.org or 312-263-0111.
