Alaska Photos

This Land is Our Land, Too

Alaska’s national parks and preserves attract visitors from around the world for the opportunity to see mountains, glaciers and wildlife such as bears and wolves. What was your most memorable experience from visiting Alaska’s national parks? Was it the opportunity to see grizzly bears, caribou and other wildlife in their natural habitats? Was your jaw in a constant state of “dropped” from viewing the towering landscapes and pristine wilderness? An equally important question to us…you took photographs during your visit, right? Whether your Alaska exploration was 30 years or 30 days ago, we want to hear your stories and see your photographs.

At NPCA, it is our duty to ensure that Alaska’s wilderness and wildlife is protected for the enjoyment of our children and grandchildren. We are currently working to roll back current, questionable hunting regulations enforced by the Alaska Board of Game. Your personal photos and stories inspire our work, and will hopefully help inspire decision makers to help keep Alaska wild by maintaining its natural diversity and abundance of wildlife.

Amazing Alaska!
Bonnie Ravesloot , January 12, 2012
My husband and I made our first trip to Alaska this summer on a land/sea tour. It's hard to pick out a favorite moment, from seeing Mt. McKinley, to watching the Margerie Glacier calve into Glacier Bay. One of our most thrilling times was a flight...
Unlike Anywhere Else

My wife and I did the tourist version of Alaska. It was our honeymoon. In 2004 we crusied up from Canada. We saw a galcier "calve" (I hope that's right) into the bay. Too cool. The best part though was the bus trip into Denali National Park....
Retreat!
Jon R. , December 19, 2011
On the 3rd day of a 25-day backpacking trip, we encountered a glacier where there wasn't supposed to be a glacier, in the Wrangell Mountains of southeast Alaska. After determining that there was no way around this particular ice-field, we...

My mom and I went on a trip to help her from losing her husband of 65 years. We have always loved the national parks and Mom and Dad piled us in a camper each summer to explore our country in the 60's and 70's. Boy Denali was a treat! We...
Protecting what is uniquely American

The pics are from a two month trip to Alaska. This was a trip of a lifetime. If it wasn't for the protection of our National Park System none of these images would exist. We owe it to ourselves, future generations, and the preservation of all...

Glacier Bay

Here are some pictures from my husband's and my recent cruise in Alaska. We visited Glacier Bay National Park and Misty Fiords National Monument and experienced the majesty of the glaciers, breaching humpbacks, bald eagle, seals, and a grizzly...
Beauty of Wilderness
Mary Aull , December 15, 2011
I have always loved the National Parks; I grew up in Colorado. 6 years ago right now I was in Alaska and I have to say that Denali is the most amazing place I have ever been; the beauty, the wilderness that makes you sure you are at the end of...
