Species Reintroduction GeoStory

The loss of native species resulting from various causes—over-hunting, diseases, predator and “pest” control programs, and invasive species—is widespread throughout the United States. Many  national parks are missing plants and animals that were historically present. At some parks, these species are being reintroduced.

To learn more about this situation and other challenges facing national parks, read The State of America’s National Parks, a comprehensive report on resource conditions in national parks throughout the country.
